THE "SIGHT & SOUND" CHARITY VARIETY SHOW
The Sight & Sound" Charity Variety Show makes a return to Dereham with local, and national performers, giving freely of their services to help raise funds for two charities.
Retina UK funds medical research and supports people living with progressive sight loss caused by inherited retinal dystrophies, through services including peer support groups, information days and a Helpline, whilst Norfolk's own BUILD Charity, provides over 300 social. leisure and learning opportunities each year, for people with disabilities.
The event is organised by volunteer and Dereham resident, Carol Goodbody who has lived experience of visual impairment and supports other people with disabilities at the BUILD Charity. Tickets are £14 (for all ages and classes) and can be bought on-line or donations made through if you want to support the cause but are unable to attend the show
The Acts scheduled to appear are:
Wayne Denton - When talent shows used to achieve 13 million viewers, Wayne was a New Faces winner in 1986. A success that saw him go on to work summer seasons with Bob Monkhouse, Cannon & Ball and Jim Davidson to name but a few, and rise as one of the UK’s most sought after vocalists. Not stopping there, Wayne tours theatres and cruise ships to all four corners of the world with his national tribute award winning John Denver and Neil Diamond show.
Stewart Masters - The King of the West Country, "The Godfarmer of comedy", Stewart is loved by audiences everywhere. An incredibly funny Comedian who has performed in theatres, cabarets and the sportsman’s after dinner circuit for over 30 years both nationally and internationally. Stewart’s reputation as a comedian and his ability to ‘warm up’ audiences, ensures him being in demand by some of our country’s top comedians to support them on their tours.
Liam - A comedian always in demand throughout the country working theatres, cabaret clubs and the after dinner circuit. Owing to Liam’s ability to deliver a risqué yet cheeky performance, Jim Davidson is a big fan and has asked Liam to support him many times, as has Harry Hill and Arthur Smith. His biggest audience was performing to 5000 people at the Essex Military Support Show.
Adrian Doughty - One of the UK’s most versatile and unique entertainer’s. Adrian’s amazing life story has provided him with the tools to be the all round entertainer he is. As a regular performer with the internationally famous naked balloon dancers ‘The Odd Balls’, he has performed at the London Palladium and also recently wowed US audiences with his unique solo stand-up routine in Las Vegas.
Drew Cameron - A fabulously funny impressionist voted Best Variety Act 2013 by the National Entertainment Awards and a semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, as well as TV performances with Frank Skinner and in Dead Ringers, Drew’s impressions had Piers Morgan crying out that he was ‘the stand-up we’ve been waiting for’. Drew was also Brian May’s (from the legendary band Queen) choice to compère his Wildlife Rock Concert.
The Man They Call G - Having just finished a sell out summer season at the famous Cromer Pier, receiving brilliant reviews, G is a former member of the famous Brother Lees. His hilarious and unpredictable mixture of comedy, impressions and music solo performance saw him wow all 4 judges in Britain’s Got Talent in 2015. Simon Cowell stating that his act would be a success in Las Vegas. G’s popularity is rising through the roof as new audiences discover his unique brand of entertainment and he remains in the UK....For Now!
Will Rawlings - The wonderful gift of looking and sounding like your tribute, results in Will being widely regarded as the best Dean Martin tribute in the UK. He is in constant demand throughout the country working his magic as “The King of Cool” and UK Cabaret Magazine call Will’s performance ‘stunningly authentic and a masterclass in performance’
Keely Rayner - A special local singing and acting talent, Keely learnt her craft at the world renowned Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London, giving her the tools to perform in theatre roles in the West End and across Europe. Her stunning vocal range also gives her the capabilities to perform classic Soul, Jazz and Motown songs and deliver a highly accomplished solo performance.
Jennifer Em - A great female vocalist who’s ability to work solo, as well as part of an acoustic acoustic duo and five-piece band, ensures she is in demand throughout the country. Jenni has also performed with West End stars Phil Cavill and Jaymz May-Sinclair in Musical Theatre themed shows and videos and covers a range of styles from 60s-current including Pop, Rock, Funk, Country, Soul, Motown, Jazz, Musical Theatre and much more.
Mid Life 80’s - Your comperes for the night have built up a fast reputation as a vocal/comedy duo who give their hilarious take on the 1980’s. UK Cabaret Magazine stated ‘the most unique comedy double act to appear on the variety circuit in a long time’. Mid Life 80’s have also appeared in London’s Leicester Square Theatre, as well as theatres and cabaret venues nationally.
